Exec. Director Communications & Public Affairs, Ford in Europe Matrix: Managing Director, Ford Italia
The Manager Communications & Public Affairs, Ford Italia, is the most senior communications position in the Italian market team. Based in Rome, the role reports directly to the Executive Director, Communications & Public Affairs for Ford in Europe and is the strategic communications advisor to Managing Director, Ford Italia.
The role is multidimensional, requiring coordination with many functions, particularly with the Italian senior management team, the European communications teams, as well as occasional liaison directly with global teams based in Dearborn, Michigan.
The role oversees all Ford product, software, and technology communications in Italy, focusing on driving creative communications campaigns and events that inspire Ford customers and build the Ford fan base in Italy. It also includes responsibility for employee communications, issues and crisis management, and executive communications.
The role will also coordinate a new storytelling strategy for the Italy team, focusing on direct-to-consumer PR communications, emphasizing quality over quantity of storytelling with a heavy focus on digital channel optimization to deliver measurable business impact.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing communications, Advertising & Creative Campaigns.At least 10 years of professional experience in the fields of marketing and communication in a global company, with expertise in digital communications and creative campaign delivery, preferably in the consumer area.Experience and examples of creative and wider strategic thinking, building integrated, digital campaigns working with creative and media teams in either one agency or multi-agency groups.Specific experience in digital channel strategy and content delivery in multichannel campaigns. A strong portfolio of success in social media and digital channels.Extensive hands-on experience with direct consumer research, insight discovery for campaign effectiveness, monitoring campaign performance through real-time data analytics.Experience in eCommerce, performance/digital marketing, purchase funnel strategy, and omnichannel shopper journey required.Track record of successful partnership activation and creative collaborations.Experience in retail marketing with understanding of brand and product marketing processes, shopper engagement, and proven record of driving business results through targeted communications.Digital communications experience with extensive social media channel strategy (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok essential; Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitch also preferred).Proven expertise in creative strategy, brand strategy, and planning within a communications, marketing, or advertising function.Experience owning and writing creative briefs and working with business and creative stakeholders.Experience managing several projects concurrently: excellent time management and organizational skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) allowing for effective stakeholder management and the ability to work independently and with a high-performing team, with a proven ability to build relationships, own projects, and navigate complex environments.Experience in leading, managing, and developing performance-oriented teams.Outstanding oral, written, and presentation skills with impeccable attention to detail, and an ability to synthesize complex information into simple high-level messages.Excellent communication and networking experience and skills in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within a large organization, including global leadership.Excellent storytelling skills with a track record of driving business results and proven experience in the effective use and further development of various communication assets, formats, and channels.
