Renesas is seeking a dynamic Director of Product and Test Engineering to lead new product development and manage production sustaining efforts for our Performance Computing Power (PCP) business unit at the Catania, Italy development center. This role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to collaborate with a cross-functional, international team to develop innovative solutions that enable data center, AI, and computing core power technologies.Products supported include multiphase digital controllers, smart power stages, and 48v system power regulators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead a high-performing team of Product, Test, and Sustaining Engineering functionsSupport the development and implementation of the strategic test platform roadmap for PCP productsFoster engineering teams capable of thriving in fast-paced, geographically diverse environmentsEstablish and oversee a Product Engineering team responsible for product validation, qualification, production ramp-up, yield optimization, and customer engagement on quality initiativesCreate and manage a Test Engineering team, with responsibilities including ATE platform selection, design for test (DFT) implementation, test plan development, ATE hardware design, and delivering robust & cost-effective test solutionsForm and guide a Sustaining Engineering team, focusing on driving production cost reductions, maintaining high quality standards, optimizing yields through process and test program enhancements, and collaborating with operations to resolve production test challengesCollaborate with other department heads to align engineering strategies with overall business objectivesMaintain close interaction with key customers and stakeholders to ensure that engineering solutions meet market demands and customer expectationsOversee project management, including setting timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of engineering projectsInstilling the team with an engineering mindset that encourages curiosity, problem solving and finding innovative ways to achieve objectivesQualifications12+ years of experience with leading Product/Test engineering teamsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plusExcellent communication, leadership, and people skills, with a proven ability to motivate teams and drive organizational successFamiliarity with new product development proceduresKnowledgeable of the production / operations environmentExperience with statistical analysis, problem solving methodologies, and making data-driven decisionsAbility to manage supplier excursions and customer escalationsAdditional InformationRenesas is an embedded semiconductor solution provider driven by its purpose 'To Make Our Lives Easier.'
