Our Audit Advisory Team of professionals includes several former senior officials from the PCAOB, including the Divisions of Enforcement and Investigation (DEI) and Registrations and Inspections (DRI). In addition, we have former senior officers from the SEC Division of Enforcement, certified public accountants, including many former audit firm partners, standard-setters, and other regulatory officials from the PCAOB, SEC, and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Our team provides insights into the regulators' perspectives to assist clients in understanding and responding to regulatory inquiries. We assist clients in navigating the complexities of the regulatory environment and judicial process, from case assessment through expert testimony, as well as compliance verification services following resolution of the matter. More specifically these services include remediation consulting, root cause analysis, pre-issuance and post-issuance reviews of issuer and broker-dealer audit engagements, leading and supporting investigations, and independent monitorships for regulatory undertakings.
Role Overview:Ankura Consulting has a full-time position for a Director / Senior Director in its Audit Advisory Practice. Audit Managing Directors provide subject matter expertise on a variety of topics including the application and interpretation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP"), International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS"), International Auditing Standards ("IAS"), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board Standards ("PCAOB Standards"), as well as Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") independence matters. In addition, Ankura Directors and Senior Directors provide expertise on matters including an assessment of an audit firm's system of quality control, internal control reviews, pre-inspection reviews, regulatory remediation assistance, and investigations.
Responsibilities:As a Director or Senior Director in the Audit Advisory Practice, you will have the opportunity to use your skills and experience to analyze accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and independence rules and standards, and assist Ankura Senior Managing Directors and clients with communications with the PCAOB, SEC, or other regulators on auditing, accounting, financial reporting, and independence matters. You will also have the opportunity to provide an independent perspective based upon your experiences in GAAP, IFRS, and PCAOB Standards to assist audit firms with the identification of enhancements to their audit methodology and system of quality control. A candidate will also have the opportunity to assist external and internal counsel to perform investigations of corporations surrounding breaches in a corporation's internal policies, procedures, and ethical behavior.
Requirements:Current CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license required;Five or more years of progressively responsible experience having attained the Senior Manager or Manager level in an audit firm;PCAOB or SEC regulatory experience is a plus;Bachelor's degree in accounting; MBA/Master's degree is a plus;Strong knowledge of PCAOB standards and GAAP; IFRS and IAS knowledge is a plus;Ankura is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
