UL Solutions Retail and Consumer Products business is seeking a General Manager of our European, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) business, reporting to the VP GM of Retail Consumer Products.
The role will have PL responsibility for operations, sales, customer services, and product management teams in EMEA.
The primary objectives of the role will be to:Clarify strategy and commercial focusDrive the expansion of global point of influence revenueDevelop a regional footprint strategy and drive improvements in lab efficiency, margin, customer service, and turnaround time in line with our customers' requirements.Integration: Integrating systems, processes, organizationPeople Development: Providing guidance, career development, and skills development supportStrategy development includes an assessment of customer needs, competitive and regulatory environment, developing financial projections and implementation plans.Anticipate customer needs by creating strong partnerships.
Provide solutions for new opportunities to secure revenue, margin, market share, and customer satisfaction.Directly lead operations and customer services teams with full PL responsibility, as well as Sales teams across EMEA.
Responsible for managing costs, reporting, forecasting, workflow overviews, and providing input into growth targets.Collaborate closely with RCP/UL Solutions stakeholders to integrate EMEA organization into Retail Consumer Products and UL Solutions ways of working.Hold team and self-accountable for results, establish performance objectives and metrics to execute strategy.
Provide training, counseling, and guidance to drive performance and morale.QualificationsUniversity degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering or related field.10 - 15 years related experience, including at least five years of relevant management/leadership experience.Direct experience in consumer products operations and commercial leadership.Lead/participate in cross-functional or global projects or worked in multiple functions or regions.Manage employee performance through performance expectations and goals, identifying and addressing training needs, planning and executing required staffing levels, and assisting in operational planning.Present information in a concise, relevant, and powerful manner.Interpret a wide variety of materials including analyses, data, financial reports and/or legal documents.Listen, learn and teach.Work in and understand diverse cultural environments.About UsA global leader in applied safety science, UL Solutions (NYSE: ULS) transforms safety, security, and sustainability challenges into opportunities for customers in more than 110 countries.
