**Job Description**:
The Director of Strategy is a highly visible and influential role; pivotal to the future success of the organisation as it enters a phase of accelerated growth. The role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer - EMAP and serves as a member of the EMAP Senior Management Team.
The Director of Strategy will be responsible for development of Experian's EMAP strategy over the short, medium and longer term, and a centre of excellence for market intelligence. Typical activities will involve:
- ** Market Analysis** - trends / ecosystem developments / clients / competitors / M&A activity etc
- ** Business Planning** - EMAP Strategic Plan (mid-long range), Market plans (short-range - annual process aligned to budget setting) and definition / prioritization and tracking of strategic initiatives.
- ** Corporate development **- Inorganic (M&A / Venture investments), organic (i.e. market entry strategy, acceleration and/or restructuring plans), and adjacencies (i.e. opportunity evaluation and GTM strategy development).
- ** Business Unit / Market strategy** - partner with EMAP MDs in the development of the strategy for their product portfolios / geographies.
Core outputs will involve creation of strategy papers & PPTs for executive / board level audiences, market sizing models / scenario modelling, strategy execution plans and market insight reports & analysis.
The role will drive strategic, commercial and operational rigor and build competitive advantage for our business - leading divisional efforts in monitoring and anaylsing the marketplace in order to proactively find new opportunities and anticipate potential adjustments to our strategy. This will involve tracking industry, technology and market trends, develop future market scenarios, manage the views of our opportunity and competitive landscapes, and drive competitive strategy developments.
The Director of Strategy EMAP will work closely with the EMAP leadership team and their SMTs, so ability to articulate the strategic landscape and competitive strategies, identify growth opportunities, crisply communicate business implications and drive action within the business are instrumental for success in this role.
Proven experience of **strategy development in a top-tier consulting firm/s,** client centricity, commercial outlook, attention to detail, a hands-on approach and the ability to operate effectively in a matrix organisation are instrumental for success in this role. International experience of Big Data solutions and/or high-end B2B services and/or **banking / financial services** / Telco would be greatly advantageous.
