City of New York Director of Grant Development New York , New York Apply Now **IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATE MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE OF CITY PLANNER, OR REACHABLE ON THE LIST FOR CITYPLANNER, OR ELIGIBLE UNDER THE 55A PROGRAM.**The mission of Grants & Fiscal Management (GFM) within NYCDOT is to administer, in conjunction with regional transportation agencies, the City's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Federal Transit Administration (FTA)-funded projects, NYSDOT and other grantors. GFM competes for federal and state grant funding based on Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) released by the respective federal and state agencies.GFM provides oversight and guidance, submits reimbursement claims, and ensures federal compliance. GFM oversees a large portfolio of federally funded transportation projects, such as Vision Zero safety improvement, improving resiliency of roads and bridges, and the installation of Electric Vehicle charging stations. With the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, a historic investment of $1.2 trillion in transportation funding was authorized. GFM is responsible for competing for this funding in collaboration with other units and NYC agencies. NYCDOT will compete in nationwide and statewide applications to secure grant funding to support on-going and new initiatives.The Director of Grant Development, reporting to the Executive Director of Grants Administration within GFM, will supervise a staff of two employees who will be responsible for writing, reviewing, and submitting competitive grant applications to secure funding for on-going programs and innovative transportation initiatives. The candidate will coordinate with various entities to identify suitable projects that meet the detailed NOFO guidelines for final consideration by the Commissioner and Deputy Mayor. The Director of Grant Development will also liaison with the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Operations, make presentations to senior NYCDOT executives including the Commissioner of NYCDOT to discuss the merits of different projects under consideration and write the grant application for submission by the deadline set in the NOFO.The selected candidate will also be responsible for performing programmatic project tasks including, but not limited to, tracking project budgets, monitoring project progress, attend project development meetings, assist with review of grant reimbursements, working with project managers and other NYCDOT units and other NYC agencies, to ensure compliance with grant requirements, and analyze complex financial and program compliance data to produce comprehensive reports.WORK LOCATION: 55 Water Street, NY, NYTO APPLY:All resumes to be submitted electronically.All applicants please go to https://cityjobs.nyc.gov and search for Job ID# 634444If you do not have access to a computer, most public libraries have computers available for use.Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.Appointments are subject to Mayor's Office of Management and Budget Approval.For more information about DOT, visit us at: www.nyc.gov/dotQualificationsA baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning; orA satisfactory combination of education and/or experience that is equivalent to "1"" above. Graduateeducation in city planning, urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, transportation engineering, public administration, economic development or related fields may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience.
