Job Title
Director, New Payment Platforms & Open Banking, Western Europe
Overview
The Director New Payment Platforms (NPP) & Open Banking will play a key role in shaping and executing the strategy for New Payment Platforms and Open Banking in Western Europe.
These areas are both closely linked to Mastercard's aim to become a true multi-rail business and therefore a key component in Mastercard's long term growth strategy.
The key areas covered by NPP are Bill Payments, Disbursements, P2P payments, Cross-border remittances and a number of additional services focused on A2A payments.
In the area of Open Banking, the Mastercard product portfolio covers connectivity between banks and TPPs (Connect), a protective framework for banks (Protect) and a solution for conflict resolution between TPPs and Banks (Resolve).
**Responsibilities**:
- To develop the sales pipeline, in alignment with local business development and account management teams
- Play a lead role in conversations with key decision makers for new or emerging product opportunities
- Provides input for long-term growth strategies to optimize profitability
- Identifies and contacts potential business partners and develops appropriate commercial structures for long term partnerships to enhance Mastercard's capabilities for NPP and Open Banking
- Prospects, contacts, and contracts new customers and business partners
- Plays a key role in developing financial modeling and business cases for development opportunities
- Enhances ongoing business development relationships
- Demonstrates expert market knowledge and strong technical understanding of the covered products
- Develops a market segmentation approach to guide the effort to grow the pipeline oof opportunities
- Develops and presents business cases for new business and product opportunities
Experience
- Solid experience of progressive sales and relationship management experience within the financial services or payments industry sectors
- Experience and proven track record of successful matrix management.
- Strong influencing, negotiation and executing and managing sales strategies
- Outstanding communication skills from a written, verbal and presentation perspective
- Experience building winning business cases by formulating quality epics (objectives) and translating them into stories (key details)
- Experience conducting product demonstrations and presenting compelling product propositions at external industry events for key stakeholders/audience
- Strong track record at synthesizing products and services from multiple functional areas into value propositions that align with regional or local customer needs
- Strong understanding of the market landscape for NPP and Open banking desirable
- Education: Masters / Business School / MBA degree.
