The Director of Operational Excellence is responsible for collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for enhancement, devise strategies, and implement process improvements to optimize operations and enhance efficiency. Through data analysis and fostering a culture of ongoing improvement, the Director will play a vital role in increasing productivity, cost reduction, and enhancing overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities: Drive key Operational Excellence priority programs across MTO.Work closely with MTO & platform leadership to develop and align the strategy for achieving organizational goals and objectives.Use data-driven insights and analytics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improving operations.Create and maintain metrics and dashboards to track progress and share results with others involved.Identify and evaluate operational inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement across various departments.Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Kaizen events, and other improvement frameworks.Facilitate cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement process enhancements.Lead and oversee large-scale projects from initiation to completion; includes defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines, as well as coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.Collaborate with individuals across the organization to lead and support change management efforts.Foster effective communication strategies to promote the successful implementation of improvement initiatives.Oversee the selection, onboarding, and management of external consultants, contractors, or vendors to provide services or expertise.Qualifications: Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's / University or equivalent degree is required; Master's degree or a focused degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Math/Statistics or a related field is preferred.
Experience and Skills: Required: Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.Proven experience leading continuous improvement projects, including defining project scope, managing timelines, and resources.Supply Chain experience, including demonstrated ability to manage and drive operational performance improvements.Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.Strong leadership / team management skills and extensive experience in effectively managing teams from different departments.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate, influence and connect with individuals at all organizational levels to drive continuous improvement success.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively use data in decision-making.Preferred: Certification in Lean / Six Sigma (e.g., Black Belt).Experience in the Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry.Proficiency in statistical analysis and usage of statistical tools.Other: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required to communicate effectively and professionally.Requires up to 25% travel domestic and international.Requires the ability, through our flexible work policy, to work on-site a minimum of three days each week, with the option for two remote workdays each week.Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
