As Director Content and Media Relations EMEA and APAC , you will provide strategic and tactical communications support to Hitachi Rail's external communication activities across EMEA (UK excluded) and Asia-Pacific (Japan excluded) in all areas and issues, with a particular focus on media relations, content creation and digital engagement including advertising and social media metrics.
You will be responsible for Hitachi Rail's content and media relations plan across the region to raise awareness of Hitachi Rail's value proposition with external stakeholders.
Accountabilities
Develop and implement effective press campaigns for EMEA countries (excluding the UK) and APAC (excluding Japan) in collaboration with the Company press office.
Monitor the effectiveness of press campaigns in the region and in coordination with business leaders and crisis communication teams.
Ideate and execute engaging content for digital properties of the Company while ensuring alignment with Corporate messaging and guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify media opportunities, manage media inquiries, and foster strong relationships with key media outlets.
Mentor and guide the local communications team in the region in developing effective media strategies and tactics to enhance brand awareness and reputation in alignment with all relevant units.
Draft articles for media and measure their effectiveness, as well as work with third party vendors/Group Communications on content generation.
Has responsibility for key message development and consolidation to drive the awareness of Hitachi Rail's offering and value proposition in the region.
Supervises media monitoring for the region and implements measurement methodology to monitor effectiveness and provide management reporting to drive awareness of success stories.
Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices to inform content and media strategies.
Required Skills/ Knowledge
Minimum 15 years of seniority in media relations, communications, or related fields.
Proven track record of successfully leading and executing press campaigns across diverse markets.
In-depth knowledge of media landscape and established relationships with key media outlets in EMEA and APAC.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proven experience in managing and executing successful media relations and content strategies, including crisis management.
Creative thinker with excellent storytelling and content ideation skills.
Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Effective leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
Willingness to be based in Naples, Italy.
This role requires a driven, strategic, and collaborative leader with a passion for media relations and content creation to enhance brand presence in the EMEA and APAC regions.
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
Accreditation in Public Relations (FERPI) or a similar internationally recognized accreditation.
Languages
Proficient in English and Italian with C1 - C2 level proficiency.
The knowledge of any other language will be considered a plus.
