The Category Management Director will partner with the Senior Director of Global Procurement to lead a team of category managers within the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) business unit. This individual will have the responsibility to lead all different commodities but with special focus on main electronic suppliers. By developing strong relationships with key vendors, the position is a bridge between R&D and Manufacturing sites (including CMs) managing all category procurement aspects:
Supplier product road map review Part selection/technical review at NPI stage Quoting and price negotiations Contracts definition Cost reduction plans and localization efforts Personal focus of this position will be to cover as responsible category the main electronic parts used in DAS PCBA design (PFGA, ICs, other active components). As part of Global procurement team, the role also supports escalations to suppliers coming from manufacturing locations related to shortages and is part of management decision on last time purchases for End-of-Life parts. The individual will have a strong involvement in cost reduction projects expected especially in the identification of lower cost alternatives available in the market. The role has global responsibility within an international environment.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World: Manage and define the overall global commodity strategy of DAS Drive relationship engagement with leadership team Manage key electronic suppliers' executive relationship Quarterly cost review and management of CM partners Collaborate with R&D on key part sourcing decisions for NPI Conduct global price negotiations with suppliers Responsible for Contract Management strategy (supported by legal team) Responsible for managing a global team of commodity managers Required Qualifications for Consideration: Bachelor/Master in a related field required. MBA or advanced degree is a plus 10 years' experience in procurement, supply chain, category management, or related field required Experience in the electronic market, EMS, and contract manufacturing management Must have successful and progressive management experience Excellent verbal and written skills Must be skillful at influencing decisions and opinions, negotiating, and building consensus Excellent organizational skills Must have strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people from all cultures Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build and motivate teams of diverse disciplines required International travel required in this position Why Amphenol Communications Solutions?
