Job Description We are looking for a fresh graduate engineer or someone with less than 2 years' experience in Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) within our manufacturing organization. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining integrated solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. The selected candidate will be part of the team supporting the Manufacturing Digital Transformation, which is within the Manufacturing Technology Development and Services (MTDS) department of Bridgestone EMEA Manufacturing. MTDS supports BSEMEA plant operations and fosters technological innovation. The selected candidate must be willing to travel frequently to BSEMEA sites and occasionally to Bridgestone sites outside of EMEA. An initial short-term assignment at a European plant may be part of the educational process for candidates without specific experience in tire manufacturing.
Required capabilities Technical background: University degree in Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. A Bachelor's degree or University degree in a different area may be considered with specific job experience at a high-profile level. Languages: Fluent English is required. Proficiency in other EMEA languages is a plus. Core competency skills: Understanding of Manufacturing Process. Understanding of various communication protocols (Profibus, Ethernet IP, OPC, …). Strong knowledge in IT, especially cloud-based solutions. Strong knowledge in OT, with experience in AVEVA System Platform (formerly Wonderware) concepts and products (Archestra, Historian Server and Clients, InTouch HMI / OMI) is also a plus. Familiarity with PC Programming Languages. SQL skills are a plus (MSSQL and Oracle). Soft Skills: Problem-solving capabilities. Effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats, for both 1-1 and group situations. Situational Leadership. Time management. Teamwork. Willingness to create and maintain a healthy working environment based on respect for all, where personal goals and ambitions contribute to the growth of the team and the company. It is not expected that a candidate possesses all the above capabilities at a high level. What is expected is the ability to learn and deploy them as required to deliver good performances, regardless of the challenges faced.
Experience Work experience in a manufacturing environment is a welcome advantage. Past demonstrated experience in the same or a similar role is also a welcome advantage.
