Role Overview:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in enhancing the current DevOps team and supporting the business growth of Thread Solutions.
Technical Skills Linux/Windows Systems Administration: knowledge of operating environments, user management, permissions, processes, and command line usage.Scripting and Automation: ability to write complex scripts in Bash or Python to automate repetitive tasks, system setups, and deployments.Containerization: experience with Docker or similar systems for container management, including container networks, storage, and security.Networking and Security: advanced knowledge in network configuration, firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices, including SSL/TLS certificate management and understanding of common vulnerabilities.Nice to have:Cloud Computing: experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, best practices, managed services, security, and cost optimization.Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting: proficiency in using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Icinga to monitor infrastructures, applications, and manage logs and alerts.Container Orchestration: Kubernetes / OpenShiftIaaC: experience with tools like Ansible, Chef for system and application configuration automation.Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): experience in configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.Methodological Skills Agile and Scrum: familiarity with agile software development methodologies, ability to work in sprints, plan meetings, and collaborate with the development team.Project Management: ability to manage projects and priorities, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Problem Solving: ability to solve complex problems, critical thinking, and make quick decisions based on available data.Continuous Improvement: commitment to staying updated on the latest technologies, tools, and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing.Debugging Skills: ability to trace and resolve complex issues through log analysis, stack traces, and monitoring output.Interpersonal Skills Effective Communication: ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.Team Collaboration: ability to work effectively within a team, promote a collaborative environment, and support colleagues' professional development.Time and Priority Management: skills in managing own time and work priorities, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Why Join Us?
