Offer DescriptionThe research fellow will deal with the extension of the CatalyticFoam tool for the detailed and macroscale simulation of electrified catalytic reactors, which in recent years have been proposed as solutions for the decarbonization of the production of energy vectors such as H2.
For the simulation of these systems, it is necessary to add the solution of electric field equations to the aspects conventionally addressed for the simulation of chemical reactors (fluid dynamics, heat exchange, and kinetics).
In order to ensure the progress of these technologies, detailed simulations of reactor components and macroscale simulations of industrial units are necessary, requiring appropriate computational tools for the scale of interest.
The developed methodologies will be used within industrial research projects.
