Offer Description The research program aims to define and apply a methodology to assess whether the use of an innovative technological solution can bring real benefits to the operation of a ship, since the genesis of its conceptual design.
After a technology scouting and a review of the literature and the current regulatory framework, a new methodology will be developed to address the conceptual design of merchant ships to meet the needs of a specific transport scenario (route, transport demand and regulatory context).
Multi-criteria decision-making techniques will be used to determine the characteristics of the ship under study in order to predict its environmental footprint and the optimal composition of a fleet to be employed in a defined scenario.
The boundary conditions to be considered will be of a technical, economic and environmental nature, both for the definition of the vessel/fleet and for the assessment of the land infrastructures.
