Development Of An Innovative Particle Detector Optimized For An Experiment At The Muon Collider

The goal of the research grant is conducting technological research for the detector of a future Muon Collider. This work is done in the framework of the International Muon Collider Collaboration at CERN. The Muon Collider environment at the collision point is very different from other well-studied colliders, mainly due to the beam-induced background that poses a significant challenge to the detector design. Different kinds of activities can be followed during the research grant: from simulation and design studies to prototypes characterization at beam tests. The sub-systems that will be studied, depending on the awarded candidate's interests, are the tracking or calorimeter systems.
