About the role
This Italy-based role will have responsibility for our Italian renewable energy projects and report to our Head of Development. You will work closely with Cero's development partners on the development of renewable projects in Italy with a focus on solar and storage.
Main responsibilities
The Development Manager will monitor and coordinate the delivery of projects from development, through construction and into operation in cooperation with the wider team. You will act as the local representative and day-to-day point of contact for development partners and be responsible for ensuring Cero's standards and policies are incorporated into all projects. This role will see you providing input on project acquisitions, oversight of day-to-day administration of a pipeline of projects, including reporting and information flow, policies and corporate governance. This includes liaising and working with Cero's partners, contractors, external consultants, project stakeholders such as DSO, TSO, landowners, government entities and local councils. You will develop strong working relationships with development partners in order to ensure obligations are met and to ensure accuracy of board, financial and tax reporting. You will also manage any specialist third party advisors appointed by Cero Generation and, where required, identify any changes required to the scope of these services, and assist in on-boarding new service providers as well as evaluating renewable energy project opportunities and complete initial due diligence assessments. To achieve financial close of projects, you will work with the Project Delivery team in preparation for projection construction during handover and also provide assistance during the construction process (construction management experience will be seen as a favourable skill) in order to monitor project development. The role is based in Milan, with regular travel within Italy and some travel to the London office and other destinations in Europe.
What will you need to succeed in the role?
You will have a relevant university degree, with qualifications in environmental science, engineering or finance, with 6 years+ experience in renewable energy projects in Italy with a strong track record in project development and delivery. To succeed in this role, you will have a deep understanding of the Italian renewable energy sector, including due diligence process, grid connection process, authorization approvals process, market regulation and local conditions. Fluent spoken and written English and Italian is a minimum requirement, with additional European language skills desirable.
