In Non-Volatile Memories, several error mechanisms may coexist. The most common is degradation of the stored data, however other phenomena may occur. E.g., the addressing circuitry may fail. The reading phase may introduce errors, as well.  
YOUR ROLE
The candidate will have to:
- study alternative error mechanisms in Non-Volatile Memories
- assess the memory performance, in the event of multiple error sources
- study countermeasures known in literature (if any)
- develop novel error correction codes (ECC), also tackling these kind of errors

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
- Balchelor's degree in Informatics, or Electrical / Telecommunications / Computer Engineering
- Deep knowledge of BCH and Reed-Solomon codes and of the mathematics behind them
- Preferably, knowledge of Non-Volatile Memories
- Expertise with Matlab and/or Python
- Curiosity and attitude to team working
