Design Engineer (Mechanical) - this role will be predominant, i.e.
70% of the time: Designs new or revised products using established engineering principles to meet functional requirements or performance specifications.
Handles design problems of moderate complexity using a variety of standard engineering methods/techniques.
Develops design verification protocols.
May assist more senior engineers in solving complex problems.
May serve as project leader of projects of limited scope.Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical) – This role will be 30% of the time:Performs engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production.
Examines equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions and suggests improvements.
May have responsibility to carry out changes or monitor operations standards.
Evaluates vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
Develops and conducts process validations and process risk management.
May serve as project leader of projects of medium scope.DutiesPrepares straightforward plans, designs, calculations, analyses, etc.
in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings, or other specifications.
*Conducts tests, gathers and analyzes information, helps interpret findings.
May require application of computer skills and knowledge of relevant software applications.
*Requires familiarity with technical terms or procedures basic to the function in order to communicate effectively with co-workers.Requires basic oral, written and listening skills to gather, prepare, present and discuss findings and conclusions.Create and maintain BOMs and routers following accepted standards and ensuring a high degree of accuracy.Performs engineering calculations by calculator or computer to solve routine engineering problems.
Participate as a member of the product development team; interact with interdisciplinary teams in various projects.Assists in the development of engineering drawings and specifications.Assists the development of new labels templatesDuties - cont'dDevelop 3D CAD models, detailed 2D print specifications of components and assemblies for new productsAnalyze design for tolerance, assembly and manufacturability.Identify materials and required testing for product validation.
