Responsibilities
To ensure that all aspects of the service contract are efficiently and effectively managed and to ensure that customer deliverables in the way of Availability, Reliability, and Safety are constantly achieved, maintaining support for the commercial need of the business. Ensure work is performed in a safe and effective manner in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Rules and Regulations, ANSF standards and ECM regulations (where applicable), ALSTOM Policies and Procedures. To be responsible for the train delivery, ensuring trains are made available to meet customer contractual requirements. Ensure that fleet performance is monitored in order to deliver customer requirements continuously, and that corrective action is taken when fleet performance fails to meet targets. To be responsible for the overall management and development of preventive and corrective staff competences. Ensure that ALSTOM policies for development of people, including objective setting and appraisal, are fully implemented at the unit. Ensure interfaces with contractors are managed correctly according to the National working rules. Ensure interfaces with suppliers, including other ALSTOM units, are managed correctly. To lead key business initiatives and implement on depots as appropriate to include APSYS (Kaizen continuous improvement). To carry out specific Health and Safety duties. This includes the setting of Safety objectives and targets for staff and managers, and the achievements of safety targets as set by the Trains operations manager. To ensure that documented Quality procedures are adhered to, and that departmental quality procedures are maintained and updated as required, to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015. To carry out Quality, Safety and Communication briefings as required. Ensure that the data input process in the maintenance management information system is correctly done and the use of the ERP system is optimal. Ensure that the use of calibrated tools is under control through calibration. Ensure that the training packages and certifications for specific works are up to date and under control. To manage and lead the continuous improvement activities for the site. Education required: Technical Mechanical or Electrical degree.
Languages: Fluent professional English is required.
Experiences required:
Technical experience and expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering (+5 years). Experience of maintenance or production management in the railway industry or similar (+5 years). Project Management experience would be a plus. Technical competencies:
Technical knowledge of the trains. IT skills – competent user of Personal Computer, including office packages. Soft Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels in the organization. Good understanding of production planning, time scheduling, construction planning, logistics planning. Result orientation and ability to solve problems. Strong Leadership & Team Management. Communication, Negotiation, and Relationship with Customer, Suppliers, and Internal Stakeholders.
