We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Demand Planner with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our Global Supply Chain team in the Milan HQ.
About the role This role is critical for ensuring accurate demand forecasting, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, a solid understanding of supply chain processes, and the ability to collaborate across functions in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts at various levels of aggregation to support production and distribution planning.Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights specific to the chemical-pharmaceutical industry.Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations teams to align demand forecasts with market and compliance requirements.Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and service levels.Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities in demand planning, focusing on compliance and product availability.Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to ensure cross-functional alignment on demand and supply plans.Collaborate with the logistic team to ensure the on-time delivery of the supplies, and decide on alternative transportation methods and urgency.Work with the Production team to define the best production plan and priorities.Propose and implement process improvements to enhance forecast accuracy, inventory optimization, and overall supply chain efficiency.Provide data-driven insights to support decisions on product lifecycle management, including launches, phase-outs, and regulatory changes. Background and Skills Education: Degree in Management Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.Experience: 2-4 years of experience in demand planning or supply chain management, preferably in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry.Languages: Fluent English is required; fluency in Italian is preferred. Additional languages (e.g., French, German, Spanish) are a plus.Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in the pharmaceutical or chemical sectors.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to manage complex projects and priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Tools & Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in demand planning tools and software (e.g., SAP, Tools SO99, TrackWise, or similar).Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).Experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment is preferred.Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP) will be considered a plus.
