Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced DBA Line Manager to lead a team of database administrators, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure database solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle database, SQL Server, MySQL database management, cloud technologies, and DevOps methodologies, with a proven track record in managing and mentoring technical teams.
Your key tasksTeam Leadership and Management:Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DBAs to achieve organizational objectivesOversee workload distribution, performance evaluations, and professional developmentFoster a collaborative and high-performance team cultureDatabase Administration:Oversee the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle databases (on-premise and cloud environments)Ensure database security, availability, and performance optimizationPlan and execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery proceduresImplement and manage Oracle database solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Lead cloud migration initiatives, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performanceLeverage cloud-native tools for database monitoring and automationDevOps Methodologies:Integrate DevOps practices into database management processesAutomate database deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using CI/CD pipelines and configuration management toolsCollaborate with development teams to ensure seamless database operations within agile workflowsStrategic Planning and Collaboration:Define and execute database strategies aligned with business goalsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutionsStay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in Oracle database management, cloud solutions, and DevOpsCompliance and Standards:Ensure compliance with industry regulations, organizational policies, and security standardsImplement governance frameworks for database operations and cloud resourcesQualificationsTechnical Expertise:7+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleIn-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshootingExpertise in Oracle database solutions in cloud environments (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.)Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)Hands-on experience with database monitoring and automation toolsLeadership and Management:Strong leadership, communication, and team management skillsProven ability to manage and motivate technical teams in a fast-paced environmentCertifications (Preferred):Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higherCloud certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS Certified Database Specialty, Azure Database Administrator Associate)DevOps certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)Educational Background:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldA Master's degree is a plusSoft Skills:Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skillsFluent in English and Italian; German is a plusExcellent verbal and written communicationAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines
