Janssen is looking for a **Data Scientist - Process Science** for the **Latina **plant to hire with a **permanent **contract.
The Scientist will be responsible for the deployment of innovative projects in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Implementation will cover testing, development, verification, validation, and transfer of novel technological solutions and digital capabilities.
***Key Responsibilities**:
- Support mathematical modeling of pharmaceutical unit operations.
- Provide model lifecycle support activities for multivariate modeling efforts through statistical analysis of manufacturing data and model predictions.
- Using business knowledge, technical skills, and sound judgment to effectively assess risk, develop contingencies, and decide when to call out issues.
- Collaborate with team members to write reports and communicate results.
- Assist with, or be responsible for, presenting study results via regulatory submissions, manuscripts, or oral presentations in group settings, as well as for communicating one-on-one with key customers and presenting at scientific meetings.
- Respond to regulatory queries and to interact with regulators.
- Define or adjust project objectives to reflect broader strategy and objectives.
- Lead manufacturing systems investigations by providing technical expertise and participate on key efficiency or reliability improvements.
- Scout, assess, benchmark, and lead new technology introduction (e.g., PAT technology, Process Modeling, and Integrated data management systems).
**Qualifications**
**Education**:
- Minimum of a **Bachelor's** or equivalent degree required; focused degree in Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Pharmacy or related technical field preferred
**Experience and Skills**:
**Required**:
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated solid understanding of Quality & Compliance / regulatory requirements (GMP)
- Diligent, highly organized, ability to lead multiple tasks, and to work individually (independently) as well as on a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively lead a multi-functional project
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel (including a high proficiency with generating pivot tables and graphs and handling large data sets), and PowerPoint
**Preferred**:
- Experience with Pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment
- Modeling and/or Multivariate modeling experience
- Technical proficiency in Matlab, Python, R, and/or equivalent programming languages
- Project leadership experience or certification (FPX or equivalent)
**Other**:
- Requires up to 15% domestic and international travel
