Data Engineer (First Data Hire)

Who you are You're a generalist who is willing to build the foundation of our data stack, which may involve some software engineering, data engineering, devops, and data analysis.
You're happy to be autonomous, making pragmatic decisions for yourself.
You're curious - if something doesn't work, you figure it out; you don't depend on others to fix things for you.
You have related production experience with building a data stack from scratch.
What the job involves 0?1: Building the foundation for data products at Alguna - this includes both internal analytics and customer-facing data products.
Collaborating: We're remote but highly collaborative in nature.
Shipping value: We're in the early stages of building the product, so we need to get features out there, get feedback, and iterate.
Improving our internal developer experience: In order to allow us all to be efficient.
Not just writing code: We write proposals to gather feedback on upcoming work and document our decisions.
Being pragmatic: Given we're still finding product-market fit, we will need to make tradeoffs with what we ship, and it's not always going to be polished.
