AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
The successful candidate will oversee the operation and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure for Data Centers (DC) in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud regions. Our technicians are operating and maintaining AWS DCs' world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure. In addition to technical operations and maintenance, the successful candidate will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures.

SAFETY:
Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE:
Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers. Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's) Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.) Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with health & safety regulations). Location Requirements:
Our data centers are located in remote areas outside Milan, where access via public transport may be limited. Therefore, a valid driving license is required for this role.
Work Schedule:
This is a 100% onsite position due to the hands-on nature of managing mission-critical infrastructure and data center industry. The role follows standard working hours (8 AM – 5 PM Milan time) with no shift work.
Additional Requirements:
Data Center/ mission critical engineering experience Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline Familiar with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems and data collection/trending.
