As our new Data Architect, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for designing, validating, and managing data solutions that support advanced manufacturing processes in Agilent's Spectroscopy & Vacuum Division. The division focuses on the development and manufacturing of Vacuum Products, including Turbo Molecular, Ion, Primary pumps along with related vacuum accessories.
Your main responsibilities will be: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including IT, Quality, and Process Owners to define data architectures that align with our enterprise architecture vision. Lead the design and development of data pipelines, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient data flow across manufacturing systems. Define and govern data models that drive operational and analytical insights, ensuring data integrity and compliance. Oversee the ETL processes, transforming raw data into useful insights for production optimization. Manage the integration of cloud-based data services (AWS/Azure), supporting both real-time and batch processing solutions. Act as a technical leader, driving data governance standards and promoting best practices in data security, data lifecycle management, and data quality assurance. Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement, providing strategic guidance on data infrastructure, cloud services, and advanced data analytics. Foster innovation by recommending and deploying cutting-edge data technologies like AI/ML, IoT, and advanced data analytics for smart manufacturing. This position is based in our plant in Torino (Leini), where partial remote work would be an option (up to 2 days a week).
Qualifications We are looking for a motivated individual with the following background:
University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related fields. Advanced certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or data management are a strong plus. Significant experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or in a related data-focused role, ideally within the manufacturing industry. Strong coding skills in Python or C# and knowledge of their IDE (e.g. Jupyter Notebook). Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms, including services like S3, Redshift, Glue, Kinesis and Rekognition. Expertise in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Familiarity with data communication protocols used in industrial IoT, including MQTT and OPC UA. General knowledge of AI/ML, Computer Vision, Supervised/Unsupervised/Deep learning methods. Full proficiency in both Italian and English. On a personal level, you are autonomous, customer centric and a team player. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams with a knack for simplifying complex ideas and engaging diverse audiences, whether you're collaborating with engineers or presenting to senior leadership. Proven capacity for innovation and managing change in a dynamic environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving. You can quickly grasp requirements and propose creative solutions with a strong planning, organizational and time management attitude.
