Commissioning Engineers play a vital role in performing Electrical and PLC software commissioning activities within the allocated cost and time scale constraints of the material-handling project. They also ensure the commissioning activities follow the correct methods and standards to meet the requirements of the customer's project.

Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting/exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements. Produce PLC software and/or visualization systems. Emulate and test PLC software. Interpret electrical schematics and design input information. Lead controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation. Lead controls engineering design teams. Provide technical guidance. Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive. Produce all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications. Commission controls systems on site and provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end user. Assist in the development of the global Dematic controls standard. General Responsibilities:
Maintain the Dematic image as a top-quality, professional company, by adopting an honest, professional and attentive approach. Maintain good relationships with all internal and external customers, through the provision of a high-quality service. Liaise with other Company Departments, Customers and sub-contractors. Maintain and use wherever possible Dematic standards. Comply with the company policies. Promote personal and business continuous improvement and development of processes to achieve improved time cost and quality of project delivery. Qualifications & Experience:
HNC/HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering as a minimum. Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline. Experience in a similar role. Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment. Advanced understanding of PLC development tools. Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings. Understanding of design requirements such as Machine Directive and its standards including safety standards. Good understanding of distributed control systems. Extensive understanding of software testing and emulation. Previous use of CAD tools. Understanding of automated warehouse desirable not essential. Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering. Functional Competencies:

Fully conversant with Siemens TIA Portal PLC and HMI software design and implementation. Conversant with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Conversant with SCADA – desirable not essential. Fully conversant with Industrial Networks such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP or similar. Conversant with E-plan – desirable not essential. Fully conversant with commissioning procedures, setting up devices such as barcode scanners, and sensors. Understand and use relevant design requirements such as the Machinery Directive and its harmonised standards including safety standards. Special Conditions:
Role will require 60% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties. Possibility to be home based. #J-18808-Ljbffr
