NOV Energy Equipment is seeking an experienced Control System Engineer. In this role, you will utilise your technical knowledge and professional experience to contribute to the delivery of pipelay, handling, lifting, and special equipment into our customers. Acting under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, you will be working on technical solutions and detail designing of equipment throughout all phases of a project lifecycle from proposals to completion (including site installation and commissioning).
You will complete the automation deliverables for the purpose of quoting, designing, and satisfying customer requirements acting as a focal point for technical matters on specific projects.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions that control dynamic systems and your aim is to bring stability to these constantly changing systems to produce the desired outcome.
You will:
Support the development of control systems based on PLC, HMIs, and VFDs. Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop customized customer-centric designs. Ensure all deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements. Ensure timely and thorough review of client specifications and communication of findings. Participate in internal design review meetings, being aware of commercial implications. Review and respond to client comments. Attend and participate in client meetings, always ensuring customer care is at the foremost position. Contribute to the investigation, resolution, and documentation of Engineering Queries in a timely and technically acceptable fashion. Reduce the cost of the product through new design simplification and existing product redesign. Perform testing and commissioning of the equipment at the production site or customer site (offshore). An appreciation of the commercial implications of engineering decision-making, attention to detail, ability to work effectively with other team members, a keen focus on delivery, and the ability to turn fast-paced, client-driven requirements into profitable solutions are all critical to success in this role. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects.
You will have:
Degree in Automation Engineering or a similar field. Experience in automation. Deep working knowledge of PLC and drives. Good communication skills in English.
