This position reports to
Local Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role your skills and technical expertise will contribute to a variety of design projects. Each day, you will design engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations, bill of materials, engineering instructions and processes according to contract specifications. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite. This role is contributing to the MOTION, Traction division in Genoa. You will be mainly accountable for: SW design for auxiliary power converters.
SW requirements definition and SW documentation editing according to the railway standards and ABB Processes.
Contributing to the preparation of specific aspects of design assignments to meet the contractual obligations, adhering to relevant standards, safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
Ensuring that Bill of Materials for the project meets contractual obligations and project gross margin requirements by not generating Project Left-Over Material.
Design of SW for field communication (CAN, TRDP, MVB) and diagnostic/testing Interfaces.
Support to power and testing activities during Type test and Routine test phases.
Commissioning activities supporting the end customers.
Qualifications for the role
You are highly skilled in C, C++ languages, Microprocessor DSP, FPGA programming.
Ability to demonstrate your experience working as Software Control Engineer on Power converter (Methods and Strategies for different power topologies).
Possess an enhanced knowledge of Matlab Simulink Simulation environment.
You are captivated by a collaborative, solution-focused approach, initiative, creativity, great attention to details and strong written and spoken communication skills.
Degree in Electronic, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
You are at ease communicating in English and Italian both written and spoken.
