Offer DescriptionProject Activities: Fishing of octopus juveniles, sexing and biometric analysis.Study of octopus predatory activity towards blue crab:Degree of preference towards blue crab;Food preference with respect to size and sex of blue crabs;Consumption: food conversion ratio (FCR), specific growth rate (SGR) and absolute growth rate (AGR);Identification of maximum size of blue crab caught as a function of octopus size;Reproduction programme for obtaining paralarvae:Eco-physiological conditioning and feeding regime to encourage gonadal maturation and spontaneous mating of octopuses;Transfer of the females to the delivery room for egg cluster deposition, hatching and collection of the paralarvae;Feeding of paralarvae;Programme for releasing paralarvae into the sea for biological control of blue crab.Monitoring of results.Country of Work: Italy
