Construction Director Location: Italy - Rome
Job Description: The Construction Director plays a pivotal leadership role within the construction sector. This position is crucial for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale pharmaceutical construction projects. As a Construction Director, you'll be responsible for strategic planning, team management, and high-level stakeholder engagement to ensure projects meet agreed specifications, budgets, and timelines. Your role directly impacts the company's ability to deliver quality infrastructure while adhering to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensure technical feasibility.Ensure resource availability and allocation, managing materials, labour, and timelines effectively.Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for flawless project execution.Maintain comprehensive project documentation to adhere to framework conditions and documentation requirements.Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.Report and escalate issues to management as needed.Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders, establishing and maintaining relationships with third parties/vendors.Perform risk management to minimize project risks.Establish and manage a detailed project budget to track expenditures and ensure financial accountability.Key Tasks and Duties: Direct and oversee construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations.Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists.Ensure quality construction standards and proper construction techniques.Implement various operations through coordination and control of planning, design, estimating, contracting, and construction processes.Develop the construction program, plans, and define parameters for project execution.Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is typically required.Significant industry experience is essential, especially in large-scale pharmaceutical construction projects (value of €1Billion+).Skills and Competencies: Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills to oversee project teams, manage resources, and drive successful project execution.Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.Project Management: Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with industry-specific regulations (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices for pharmaceutical facilities).Financial Acumen: Understanding of project budgets, cost control, and financial accountability.Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address complex construction challenges.Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
