Join a team recognized for leadership, innovation and diversityAs a Principal Attorney – Export Compliance here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic legal advice and support to our business units and corporate functions. Your expertise in export control laws of Italy, the European Union, and the United States will be instrumental in driving our success. You will support the Vice President and General Manager, Navigation and Sensors, and the General Manager of one of our Italian-based Aerospace Technology businesses. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing risk of inadvertent contamination of Italian technology by U.S. export laws.
You will report to the General Counsel, Export Compliance and Trade Sanctions EMEA and work out of one of our locations in the Lazio, Marche or Abruzzo region, or Rome, on a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze and advise on law and a wide range of legal and compliance matters relating to export controls under Italian, EU, and US regulationCooperate with Export Compliance Officers located in Italy, across Europe, and in the United StatesConduct export compliance training for employees; internal audits and assessmentsBuild and maintain a positive work relationship with government authorities engaged in export controlsProactively manage export licenses for our Italian legal entitiesYou Must Have: Completed legal education and 5 years of experienceKnowledge of export control legislation of Italy and the EUFamiliarity with the EAR and ITARAbility to partner with VP-level internal stakeholdersUnshakeable commitment to compliance; Commitment to ethical conduct and professional integrityAbility to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities and aggressively drive key initiativesFluency in Italian and English language required.We Value: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsBusiness acumen as well as legal expertiseStrong intellectual capacity and high personal standards of excellenceProblem-solving and decision-making abilitiesAttention to detail and strong analytical skillsEqual opportunity statement: We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
