1. Primary Objective of Position • This position's primary goals are to monitor and anticipate relevant competition initiatives to address potential market access opportunities and challenges. • The position will have a critical responsibility in achieving market access and reimbursement for new ADC products (coding, coverage & payment, tender positioning). • The position directly reports to the market access director and interacts with in-country senior staff and EMEAP/global market access teams. 2. Major Accountabilities • Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with quality system requirements. • Analyzes competitive products' offerings, strategies, and initiatives to support faster and more informed decision-making by senior management. • Analyzes the competitive landscape and implements processes and tools to collect information generating insights in support of defining appropriate market access strategies and tender management. • Collaborates with sales, field medical, field access, and marketing teams to support promotional and access activities and communication strategies according to current and future competition. • Develops appropriate scenario planning to anticipate potential market evolution. • Analyzes market access trends/health policy changes and continuously maps reimbursement requirements by payer type for on-market products. Anticipates access barriers and cost containment risks. • Collaborates with the Market Access Director and other internal functions to understand, describe, and prioritize the most relevant (influential, accessible) market access stakeholders (patient associations, payers, governmental bodies, industry associations, and professional associations) for the local ADC organization and business in light of increasing competition. • Contributes to understanding the specific needs of payers and reimbursement-related stakeholders and identifies partnering opportunities. • Supports contracting and tendering opportunities/risk within care groups to position the ADC portfolio and sustain profitability. • Supports tender management by leading the "clarification" process, directly interacting with the tender office and coordinating the internal cross-functional team on this task. • Provides competitive insights to maximize overall local tender and market access strategy. • Supports the Market Access Director in the partnership with global market access to inform product development & pricing based on competitive scenarios and local customer needs. • Provides inputs for developing launch plans for new products, mapping out local coding, coverage, and payment requirements. • Collaborates with the Market Access Director for proposing to senior management. • Works with all staff levels, interacts, and collaborates with other team members and internal functions to foster a success-driven team spirit within the company. 3. Education • University Degree in Science or Economics. 4. Background • At least 5 years of experience in the pharma/medical device industry, health policy, or related functions of payer disease management organizations. • Ability to rationalize multiple pieces of information on the competitive landscape to develop appropriate strategies. • Ability to translate the strategies into actionable and realistic engagement plans to ensure market access of Abbott products, in alignment with brand strategies. • Strategic understanding of the business and ability to connect all relevant information to generate valuable strategic insights. • Broad knowledge of local tenders and reimbursement pathways. • Ability to develop impactful strategies and action plans to mitigate reimbursement challenges. • Proven leadership and engaging personality able to develop sustainable relationships with all ADC relevant decision-makers. • Abbott Leadership Competencies Critical for Success: Set Vision and Strategy; Drive for Results.
