About the Role The Community Development Officer is the driving force in providing the daily oversight, coordination, and management of program activities for Santos Foundation's Health, Education, Community Development and Gender Program activities in Hela Province.
The Community Development Officer will lead impactful change, fostering community empowerment and sustainable development through program execution and strategic collaboration.
This is a Tari based residential position. This is not a FIFO position.
Key accountabilities include: Mobilise resources and support partners to implement Health, Education, Community Development, and Gender programs in Hela Province.Collect, collate, and disseminate reports to the Foundation Operations Manager and program managers on time.Lead assessments, data collection, and report compilation to develop new activities for programs in Hela Province.Ensure compliance with Santos health, safety, environmental, security, and HR policies in all program activities.Maintain an updated and organised filing system for all program activities in Hela Province.Participate in job start meetings, learning sessions, and self-learning opportunities to foster growth.About You You will be experienced in: Project and program management.Networking with project partners and public relationship building.Critical thinking, evaluating risks and opportunities, and problem solving.Encouraging and supporting collaboration and team efforts to build a more productive team.Adapting to new work environments and working long hours under pressure to deliver results.Education and Gender Program activities in remote communities.Ideally, you will be Diploma or Degree Qualified in Community Development Studies or Social Sciences from a recognised University in Papua New Guinea. You will have solid experience working in the development sector, preferably in Health, Education or Gender Programs.
