This position reports to Motion Head of Communications
Your role and responsibilities As Communications Channel Manager for our Motion Business Area, you will lead the strategic development and governance of comprehensive, data-driven multi-channel communications. You will set the framework for innovative external and internal communication strategies that leverage both owned and earned channels to maximize reach, impact, and engagement. Collaborating with key stakeholders, you will position Motion as an integral part of ABB, utilizing analytical insights and data-driven decision-making to align with Group and Business Areas (BAs) Communications strategies. Your main responsibilities include:
Strategy, Planning & Execution: Develop multi-channel communication strategy: Understand and define communication objectives (e.g., increasing brand awareness, C-suite thought leadership, driving website traffic, improving engagement rate). Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Audience analysis: Conduct thorough research to understand the target audience's demographic profile, preferences, and behaviors. Utilize insights to tailor communication strategies and select the most effective channels. Channel selection and management: Identify and manage relevant owned and earned communication channels for direct and indirect reach (e.g., media, web, social media, events). Ensure alignment of channels with brand objectives and audience preferences. Consistency in branding: Maintain a consistent brand message and tone across all communication channels aligned with ABB brand. Ensure all communications align with brand values and desired audience perception. Personalized communication: Develop and implement personalized and targeted communication strategies. Provide data for impactful and engaging content creation that resonates with the audience and improves conversion rates. Monitoring and analytics: Collect and analyze data to monitor the effectiveness of communication campaigns. Use insights to refine and improve future communication strategies. Network and knowledge: Maintain a robust communications network and seek knowledge of current trends, practices, and innovations to refresh the strategy. Qualifications for the role Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Related Field; advanced studies in data analytics are a plus. Over 5 years of experience in developing and managing multi-channel communication strategies. Strong analytical skills and expertise in data-driven decision-making. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Technical proficiency in using various communication platforms and tools. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Comprehensive understanding of channel-specific characteristics, target audiences, and effective engagement methods. Experience in leading a virtual indirect communications community and coaching team members. This role demands a blend of creativity, analytical skills, and attention to detail to ensure consistent and impactful communication.
