We have an opportunity for a Commodity Manager to join our Lugnano (PI), Italia team.

Job Responsibilities: Lead the strategy of the materials purchase across all EMEA sites to create material productivity and reduce the cost of goods. Establish and develop the supplier base and manage vendor relationships to drive strategic sourcing initiatives within the Commodity under own responsibility. Identify, define and lead the implementation of cost reduction opportunities with focus on Total Cost of Ownership model. Create and implement a sourcing strategy for given commodities ensuring synergies are captured with Global Commodity Team. Act as the primary interface for the Global Commodity Managers at a regional level. Evaluate and regularly communicate market updates and trends of the own commodities affecting products costs. Select and evaluate assigned suppliers and monitor their KPI's identifying actions to improve their performance in agreement with SQDE (Supplier Quality Development Engineering) function and building and maintaining strong professional relationships. Approve Purchase Orders according to "Delegation Of Authority" matrix and complete contracts in SAP. Support Procurement Coordinators (order expediting) through the escalation process. Support SQDE function to define and implement a supplier/product qualification program. Evaluate and capture opportunities from Countries in the area, especially in Eastern Europe. Negotiate prices, terms and conditions to achieve targets. Improve cash flow by negotiating lead-time reduction or consignment. Manage supplier's ramp up and phase out when necessary. Work closely with project teams (manufacturing, engineering, new product development & technology) - including suppliers - to coordinate product migrations or start ups as necessary to achieve cost savings and strategic objectives (e.g. qualifying new materials, new production processes, etc.). Follow the complete process of "Total Cost Out and Cost Improvement Process" initiatives to ensure final execution is carried out within the AOP time schedule. Minimum Qualifications: Purchasing, Business or Engineering degree (Mechanical and/or Hydraulics) or equivalent experience. 10 years' experience in a similar role, particularly in the areas of supplier selection and qualification and in managing the sourcing function in mid-size business. Particular knowledge of a commodity, i.e.: Metals (Raw Material, Casting, Machining, Hardware and Pump components). Strong knowledge of Materials Management systems, databases; knowledge of SAP is a major plus. Knowledge of basic statistics and statistical analytics. Prior experience in industrial components a plus (e.g. automotive components; pumps; motors; etc.). Familiarity and/or previous experience with automotive industry will be a plus. Fluency in English and Italian. Additional languages such as French or German will be a plus. High energy, positive thinker. International business experience; ability to work well with various international cultures. Self-starter, self-directed, highly motivated. Creative ability to overcome obstacles, flexible. Strong in program management. Strong negotiations and problem-solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strategic thinker, team player and ability to motivate team members. Availability to travel in Italy and abroad for 25% of the time. For the first 6 to 12 months, 50% will be more likely. Location: Preferred location for this role will be Pisa area. A relocation package will be evaluated in case of candidates willing to relocate. Alternative location will be Milan area. Also, a full remote working condition will be acceptable.
