SMS group S.p.A., a company of the German group SMS, a worldwide leading company for plant and machinery manufacturing in the steelmaking and non-ferrous material industry, is looking for a Commercial Shipping Specialist.
**Tasks**:
Request market information and prices from forwarders and packing agencies during sales phase;
Calculate Transport Costs in Sales Phase or support the purchasing department regarding the total cost of ownership during the purchasing process;
Create quotation comparisons acc. to global & local purchasing guideline while taking total costs of ownership into account & considering time, budget, scope & other project specific requirements;
Creation of a logistics concept with packaging and shipping concept based on the contract, the procurement concept, the list of large and heavy parts, and on information from the project organization and the whole supply chain (purchasing, quality, and logistics);
Create Purchase Requisitions in compliance with the defined value limits;
Create Material and packing labels;
Preparation of shipping documents and export declarations in accordance with the applicable statutory customs and export control regulations and with the requirements of the contract;
Preparation of the contractually-fixed documents and documents affecting payments that fall under the responsibility of the Shipping team;
Maintain Shipment Status by using the activity profile of the shipment and further dates;
Verification of Invoices of logistics service providers in respect of the actual progress of performance;
Assign those invoices to the corresponding accounts;
Keeping a project journal to document cost variances with regard to shipping logistics;
Manage claims against suppliers to ensure financial compensation from suppliers for quality deviations (i.e. delays) or damages;
Coordinate corrective actions-if necessary together with leagues from the Project Lead.
**Responsibilities**:
Ensure shipment and packing of goods according to the required budget, time and scope;
Optimization of purchase orders for packaging and shipping service providers in terms of quality, price, terms and conditions of payment and delivery, and risks;
Communication and implementation of project-specific requirements in the supply chain;
Coordination in the event of conflicting aims between shipping and the Project/Sales Order:
Providing early warnings of deviations in delivery within his area of responsibility and submitting proposals for corrective actions.
