This person plays a vital role in driving awareness of Sun World's varieties and promoting the adoption and growth of planted acreage of those licensed varieties.
Creative analysis, independent thought, and a proactive approach to adding value to the organization are key elements of this position.Reports to Maurizio Ventura, Licensing Manager EuropeResponsibilities and DutiesThe Commercial Manager Europe is responsible for implementing and advancing Sun World's variety distribution model throughout the production regions of Europe and across global sales territories.Prepare and administer proprietary licensing agreements with the producers, distributors and marketers of Sun World varieties.Develop new business and expand profitable relationships with producers distributors.Coordinate plant material orders and support the importation and quarantine of new proprietary varieties.Prepare reports and support financial operations for the territory.
Track revenue and expenses, ensuring local operations conform to budget.Perform periodic field visits and maintain awareness of day-to-day conditions, climate and grower concerns.Conduct variety evaluations, collect feedback and prepare reports on variety performance and licensee preference data.Provide technical support to growers and marketers through RD and Agronomy.Offer input and support the Licensing Manager to improve efficiencies and reduce business risks.Location Office in Conversano, (Bari) considerable time to be spent near our growers in the fieldHybrid: This individual will spend a significant amount of time working remotely, both on the road and in the field.
Work from home may also be accommodated when practical.80 – 100 days of domestic and international travel is anticipated.Periodic weekends and extended hours will be required on occasion.Professional Skills and ExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience in the international produce industry or FMCG, and history of working with and understanding the needs of fresh fruit and vegetable producers, marketers, and retailers in Europe.Bachelors' Degree in agriculture or business required; master's degree in agriculture or business preferred.Aptitude for relationship management and capacity for professional growth as business expands.
Self-starter, highly motivated, good reasoning abilities, and sound judgment.Excellent communication skills.
English fluency and proficiency, written and oral.
Spanish preferential.
