Department: Finance Reports to: Commercial Finance Director Job Purpose A Commercial Finance Business Partner plays a critical role in bridging the gap between finance and business operations, ensuring that financial insights are aligned with the company's commercial strategies and objectives.
GroupM is looking for a Sr Commercial Finance Business Partner who will provide analysis and insight to the Commercial Finance Director and Business teams in order to drive profitable growth, optimize decision-making, and ensure that commercial objectives and financial targets are met.
He/She will support the Commercial Finance department in all activities regarding business planning and analysis at the client level.
In particular, He/She will be responsible for keeping under control the profitability of clients in the portfolio across different business lines, delivering performance analysis over time thanks to the development of dedicated tools and dashboards.
He/She will also actively contribute to the development of business cases and economics assessment for client pitches and new business opportunities.
We expect the candidate to engage and interact outside the Finance community, analyze and communicate business and client results to key stakeholders, and participate in the continuous improvement of our internal processes of assessing and monitoring client profitability.
Key Responsibilities Business Partnering : Partner with key business stakeholders providing analysis and insight and supporting business decision making through the assessment of risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with non-finance teams to ensure financial implications of business decisions are fully understood.
Analyze client profitability and main drivers to support pricing and fee decisions and negotiations.
Analysis & Reporting : Analyze key business metrics, such as revenue, margin, and profitability by client and business line.
Develop data models to support scenario analysis and new business evaluation.
Track performance against budget and forecasts, providing insight into variances and recommending corrective actions.
Support data modeling, forecasting, and analysis of client profitability to ensure sound and accurate planning and target-setting processes.
Develop decision-making tools for forecasting and planning that will drive the organization to be more effective across the client portfolio.
Be responsible for data collection, template automation, and consolidation.
Work closely with the IT department to maximize the level & accuracy of information available to the business and ensure that the logic & assumptions by which the data is summarized and constructed align with objectives and processes of those interpreting the data.
Drive the evolution and improvement of tools and reporting and analysis capabilities within the Commercial Finance Team.
Required Skills & Competencies: High level of analytical skills and experience in an analytical role within a Finance department, ideally at a fast-paced company.
An advanced level of computer skills is essential including PowerPoint, Excel, and data extraction and analysis tools (e.g.
SAS, SQL).
Knowledge of data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI) is also required.
Strong knowledge and understanding of analytics tools and experience of extracting and utilizing data.
Confident communicator with experience of influencing commercial teams.
Ability to present analysis in a clear and concise manner.
Proven ability to draw insight from data and make recommendations.
Proactive, not reactive, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Confident with learning new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
Commercial acumen: strong understanding of business operations and the ability to provide actionable insights to drive commercial success.
Results-driven and focused on adding value to the business.
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or an analytical related field.
The successful candidate would have 3-5 years' experience within a similar role.
Previous experience in commercial finance and analysis departments.
