**The Role**:
The Qomodo Collections and Claims team is seeking a sharp, energetic and eager to learn individual who is keen to help us build out our Collections team. This role is a unique opportunity to learn the nuts and bolts of digital financial services and build a well-rounded skill set while working within the wider Operations function and with other teams across Qomodo.
The Collections officer will gain valuable experience and have the opportunity to grow their career within Qomodo. You would help us improve our collections rate and deliver a world class customer experience.
**Responsibilities**:
- Monitor and manage the accounts receivable portfolio, proactively identifying and resolving collection issues
- Debt Collection: contact customers regarding overdue payments and negotiate repayment plans
- Customer service: Assess customer creditworthiness and make recommendations regarding credit limits and payment terms
- Accurately document all collection activities and maintain detailed records of customer interactions
- Work closely with internal teams, including sales and customer service, to resolve customer disputes and inquiries
- Collaborate with legal counsel, when necessary, to pursue legal action against delinquent accounts
- Good negotiation skills: Continuously evaluate and improve the collections process to maximize efficiency and reduce bad debt write-offs
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Collections Officer or a similar role within the financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of collection regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence others
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in using collection software and MS Office suite
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
