As Clinical Consultant Surgical, you will develop our surgical business and ensure best clinical outcomes.
Our goal is to establish Heart Recovery as a new standard of care which requires a Heart Team approach.
Responsibilities: Patient Support: Improve patient outcomes through education, implementing the latest clinical best practices and medical staff interaction, with emphasis on OR and ICU.
Visit key institutions where patients have been equipped with the Impella Pump portfolio to collect clinically relevant data.
Proctor/support cases in new surgical accounts as well as complex cases at experienced sites.
Perform After Action Review's (AAR) with MDs following cases and communicate results.
Surgical Account Training & Management: Responsible for ongoing training at European surgical key sites.
Enable and drive the growth and performance of our surgical business.
Coordinate and lead activities with SAM, Franchise Team (TM/CC), Training department, Medical Office, and manage customer education for new and existing accounts to ensure best clinical outcomes.
Establish surgical peer-to-peer networks across the region to share best practices and implement/support peer-to-peer educational programs (incl.
physician proctoring) in cooperation with our Physician Program Team and Medical Office.
Therapy Development: Support Abiomed's goal to establish Heart Recovery as the new standard of care.
This will be achieved through the implementation of Abiomed's surgical product portfolio, with training of MDs & hospital staff about the appropriate use of Impella to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
Conferences: Represent us at surgical conferences across the EMEA region.
Ability to travel 80% within territory required.
Qualifications Educational Skills: Clinical/technical degree Working Experience: 5+ years' experience of direct patient support in OR with cardiac surgery and/or surgical medical devices in the field of Heart Failure and MCS (Mechanical Circulatory Support) (Perfusionist; ICU Nurse; OR Nurse).
3+ years of commercial experience related to products and technologies utilized in the cardiovascular space, Mechanical Circulatory Support.
Strong knowledge of cardiac surgery, perfusion medicine, mechanical circulatory support, ICU, and structural heart.
Fluent in English and Italian.
Driving license required.
