The Role We are seeking someone who wants to do something different. We want a contrarian - a junior partner or principal investor who is looking to actually make decisions and create impact. You will lead an investment team, work closely with leadership, and be responsible for creating the first climate impact fund that marries impeccable returns with measurable environmental KPIs.
Key Responsibilities Investment Strategy: Help refine and execute the fund's investment thesis, with a focus on high-impact sectors in emerging climate technologies. You'll actively contribute to developing innovative approaches to identifying opportunities that align with both financial returns and climate outcomes. Deal Sourcing: Build a robust pipeline of early-stage startups through your established network and by attending key industry events. You'll focus on identifying visionary founders with solutions capable of transforming the climate tech landscape. Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive due diligence efforts, including financial modeling, market analysis, and assessing the regulatory landscape. You'll use your expertise to ensure that each investment is viable and capable of delivering both returns and impact. Fundraising: Play a central role in the fund's capital-raising efforts by cultivating relationships with LPs. You will present a compelling narrative that connects our mission with tangible outcomes—whether that's carbon reduction, resource efficiency, or technology scaling. Your ability to articulate the firm's vision will be critical in securing new partners. Thought Leadership: Represent the firm at key industry conferences, panels, and in the media. You'll be a visible advocate for climate tech investment, showcasing their success stories and championing innovation that has a measurable environmental impact. Requirements Experience: At least 6 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or climate-related sectors, with a proven track record of managing early-stage investments. Direct experience in climate tech is highly desirable, but candidates with a strong understanding of technology and sustainability are encouraged to apply. Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge of climate technology sectors, including energy, agriculture, carbon markets, and sustainability. You should have strong relationships with key players in these industries and be able to leverage your network to source promising deals. Entrepreneurial Drive: A demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. You thrive in ambiguity and are capable of making bold decisions with limited data. Financial Acumen: Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills, along with a demonstrated ability to assess and de-risk early-stage business models in emerging technologies.
