We are looking for you to head up the future IT Service Center. You will shape the processes in the restructured organizational unit from the outset and shape the future work together with around 60 employees. The services of the future IT Service Center include the areas of IT infrastructure, IT applications and digital services for teaching, studies, research and administration as well as service desk/support, information security management and IT project management. The sought-after head reports directly to the university management; you will report to the Chief Digital Officer (CDO). What tasks await you Strategic responsibility for the further development of the central IT organization and IT service management Ensuring, managing and further developing the operation of central IT infrastructures and systems for research, teaching, studies and administration in terms of service quality, service costs, security and availability Management, personnel and budget responsibility for the future IT service center Strategic personnel and organizational development Positioning central IT as a player in the university's digitalization goals and as a driver of digital innovations in research, teaching, studies and administration Representation of central IT within the university, vis-à-vis the Rectorate, administration, departments and university committees Cooperation and coordination with the departments, academic centers and administrative units; control of central requirements management Management of external IT service providers and externally provided IT services Active participation in supra-regional networks and competitive tenders What you bring with you You have an academic degree (university diploma/master's degree) in the field of IT-related specialist sciences or demonstrable comparable qualifications and several years of professional experience. In addition, you have already successfully led a team in the IT sector for several years and gained management experience. You have experience in the development of organization-wide and cross-organizational IT architectures, with the implementation of IT services and in application development or data center operations. You have also already gained experience with IT service management frameworks. You also have knowledge of integrated information systems. Passion and understanding for organizational development and change management as well as personnel development skills round off your expertise. Knowledge of specific university processes, IT infrastructures and application systems is an advantage. In addition, you have an appreciative and communicative leadership style and a clearly structured way of working. You can set priorities, are decisive and implementation-oriented. You present yourself convincingly with arguments and a strong service orientation and deal confidently with a diverse range of different requirements and needs. You consistently take diversity and gender aspects into account in your work. You are business fluent in written and spoken German and have a good command of English (B1).
