We are searching for an experienced and visionary CIO to lead the Information Technology department. This person will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the IT strategy to support business objectives and maintain the competitive edge in the dynamic market.
The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Key Accountabilities include:
- **IT Strategy and Leadership**: Provide visionary leadership to a newly established IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement and develop/execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with business goals
- **Application Development and Support**: Lead the development and/or deployment of fit-for-purpose software solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience
- **Infrastructure Management**: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and fit-for-purpose IT infrastructure environment and ensure the security and integrity of data, systems, and networks
- **Cybersecurity**: Oversee the implementation of a robust cybersecurity framework to protect the company's digital assets and stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies, implementing necessary measures to mitigate risks
- **Team Development**: Recruit, develop, and retain top IT talents in Italy and in other countries; foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and professional growth.
- **Budget Management**: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization of IT expenditures.
- Apart from leading the day-to-day business operations, the new Head of IT will further lead and oversee the currently ongoing carve-out process. The role will further take ownership for replacing all currently provided Group IT services (Transition Services) with new dedicated services. It is assumed that as the carve-out execution will gradually decrease, management of day-to-day business operations will gradually increase towards a business-as-usual state.
- As part of this carve-out management, additional responsibilities will further include:
**IT Carve-out Management**
- Identify and manage the IT transition and related projects globally and at all stages throughout the transition lifecycle
- Identify staffing need for project roles as well as coordination and controlling of external support.
- Overview and manage transition timeline and cost.
- Set-up a strategic IT portfolio and demand management to ensure focus on the value creation plans and alignment with the business requirements towards IT.
**IT Target Operating Model Implementation**
- Create, shape, and position the IT Target Operating Model (IT TOM) during the transition into a standalone IT organization.
- Ensure complete transition of services incl. processes, assets, support processes and documentation and potentially personnel and service provider relationships.
- Orchestrate the definition of service lots as well as the provider selection process. Establish and shape IT support organization to be able to operate all future IT services
- **Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
**Mandatory requirements**
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
- Proven experience within a senior IT leadership role within the manufacturing industry
- Outstanding people skills and ability to build respectful relationships with all levels of staff.
- Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Good understanding and experience in business process mapping, IT architecture, IT Solution design and infrastructure.
- Experience to lead and engage with project owners, project managers, third parties, and system architects.
- Ability to handle changing priorities, deal with ambiguity and use good judgment in stressful situations; ability to take profound decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Fluent English and Italian is a must.
- **Beneficial experience and qualifications**
- Experience in managing IT carve-outs and replacing formally group-wide provided services with dedicated services.
- M&A experience to understand how Private Equity works both in terms of mindset, approach and operations given that this is the backdrop to the portfolio / program.
- Experience as permanent or interim CxO as well as implementation of IT Strategy and IT operating model
