Job Description We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee the strategic decisions, daily operations, and implementations related to buildings, facilities, and assets for a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short and long-term engineering and maintenance strategies aligned with the hotel's objectives and standards. Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring smooth operations across all facilities and installations. Asset Management: Manage the lifecycle of assets, including machinery, equipment, and building systems, to optimize performance, longevity, and cost-effectiveness. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols, conducting regular audits and inspections. Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering department budget, optimizing resource allocation and cost control measures. Vendor and Contractor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and installations, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness. Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports to ownership and management on engineering performance, project status, and budget adherence. Sustainability Initiatives: Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability improvements, implementing initiatives to minimize environmental impact. Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and best practices in engineering and facility management, seeking opportunities for optimization, automation, and technological advancements. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred. Proven experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel setting. Strong technical expertise in engineering principles, building systems, and facility management. Proficiency in asset management practices, including maintenance scheduling, inventory control, and procurement. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations. Demonstrated experience in budget management, financial analysis, and cost optimization. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining attention to detail.
