Chief Accountant English fluent - GorgonzolaWe are looking for a Chief Accountant in Gorgonzola (MI) for a multinational company; one of the world's largest designers, manufacturers, and marketers of premium business, technology, academic, and consumer products.Responsibilities:Handling statutory, compliance and tax activity locally for the Italian entity (e.g.
VAT Monthly liquidation, VAT annual return, Intrastat, Enasarco, withholding tax).
Ensure all filing deadlines are met, and that such returns are accurate efficiently produced.Managing relations with the statutory auditors, on a quarterly basis and at year end regarding the presentation of the annual accounts.Supporting the fiscal consultant in preparing the annual corporate tax return.Supporting the SSC with regard to AP/AR journal postings, plus AP, AR, GL accounts reconciliation.Handling from a legal point of view BD (i.e.
claims related to bankruptcy procedures).Resolving current issues with the compliance activity, including validation reconciliation of systems/reports and supporting records.Preparation of the monthly/quarterly/annual corporate (US GAAP) reporting according to strict deadlines, with responsibility for the Italy entity.Championing SOX compliance, demonstrating a strong grasp of internal control.Other ad-hoc work as may be required from time to time, including provision of support to other entity team members as needed.Project work and process improvement initiatives across the function.Preparation of Year-end Local Statutory Accounts.Supporting the payroll consultant in managing the monthly payslip.
Preparation of payroll GL posting and related accounts reconciliation.Supporting the Local Production to calculate Local Standard Cost.Controlling activities related to costing, pricing and GL account cost centers.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.Professional accounting qualification is preferred.Demonstrably good grasp of internal control and how to run an efficient month-end/year-end process.Current, hands-on Italian compliance knowledge is a necessity.English and Italian language ability is a necessity.Ability to contribute to projects and process improvement desirable.Good systems knowledge preferred including MS Excel, SAP.Good VAT knowledge including EC and non-EC operations and Intrastat reporting.Home office policy: Middle ManagementPosting Date: 02/10/2024 #J-18808-Ljbffr
