Job Purpose
Joining a dynamic and motivated materials innovation development team, the R&D materials researcher will lead efforts to design, develop and validate innovative materials for the future Bridgestone products.
Core Responsibility & Working Relationship
- Design, development and validation of new materials proposals, solutions and original ideas along with the Raw Material Development team and implementing new solutions in the daily activities.
- Support and collaborate with the R&D laboratory for implementation of most advanced Chemical / Physical techniques through new methodology development.
- Promote Open Innovation projects with Bridgestone partners (suppliers, startups, research associates) & academia and launch new technologies.
- Work effectively with R&D researchers, staff, technicians, and management of Bridgestone EMIA Technical Center, actively taking part in R&D cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Bridgestone Corporate Functions, Bridgestone America and Bridgestone Japan and Bridgestone Europe manufacturing plants.
- Represent Bridgestone in conferences and workshops with external partners.
Job requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or any other related field of study is preferable.
- Experience with leading and/or participating in technical projects between industry and academia.
- Goal-oriented, motivated, creative and collaborative.
Able to work individually and as a part of a team.
- Strong communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to adapt communication style and approach to suit different audiences and situations, ensuring messages are understood and well-received.
- Digital mindset.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
