Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - Bascom Palmer Eye Institute - Naples Location: Naples, FL Time Type: Part time Posted On: 30+ Days Ago Job Requisition ID: R100075309 Job Description The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist prepares prescribed solutions and administers anesthetic following specified methods and procedures.
The incumbent works in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other medical professionals to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures.
Responsibilities include: Performing pre- and post-anesthesia patient visits and documenting anesthesia notes on patient records.
Reviewing medical history, evaluating patients, and determining proper methods of anesthesia.
Performing or evaluating diagnostic tests, such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKG's).
Measuring and monitoring the level and speed at which anesthesia is administered.
Monitoring patient vital signs to ensure safety, including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output.
Informing physicians of patients' conditions during anesthesia.
Managing patients' airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation.
Overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia and caring for patients' immediate post-operative needs.
Preparing prescribed solutions and administering local, intravenous, spinal, or other anesthetics.
Responding to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering fluids or drugs, and using basic or advanced life support techniques.
Developing anesthesia care plans.
Adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets.

Minimum Qualifications A Master's Degree and a graduate from an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia Program (CRNA).
Valid Florida CRNA License, BLS/ACLS/PALS required.
Minimum 2 years of experience preferred.
