Position: CERTIFICATION AUTHORIZATION ENGINEER The Certification Engineer collaborates with the CA manager in the application of the CA process to obtain the necessary certificates and authorizations for a Railways Vehicle, according to a defined CA strategy.
She/He is part of the CV EDU (Engineering Design Unit) and operates in a Rolling Stock project frame, according to European Regulation (IV Railway Package), National Rules and laws and internal procedures.
Functionally, she/he reports to the Project CA Manager; hierarchically to the CA Site Leader.
She/He is responsible for: Carrying out dedicated activities within the CA processes in accordance with the project CA management plan during all project phases; Supporting the CA Manager in the identification and preparation of Certification and/or Authorisation requirements; Supporting the CA Manager in the preparation of evidence documents plan (e.g.
for TSIs or National Rules) with the project team; Collecting and compiling the CA evidence documents to be submitted to independent assessors and/or the authorising entities; Organising periodic reviews of evidence documentation and assessment reports; Maintaining the certification related data in the requirement management tools (e.g.
Doors/Excel); Compiling and keeping track of CA relevant reporting (e.g.
KPI, Cost overview); Being a key partner of the project team for: Engineering, RAMS, Quality, Planning, Validation, Maintenance, Sourcing; Preparing the selection material and collaborating with independent assessors (e.g.
NoBo, DeBo, AsBo) and authorising entities (e.g.
ERA or NSA's); Compiling the Certification and Authorisation application file(s); Participating in the modifications follow-up of the certified/authorised vehicle configuration(s); Acting on behalf of the CA Manager upon requests for a specific scope of a project.
She/he is also responsible for the monitoring of the performances of the Certification Process according to specific QCD targets; she/he provides periodical progress KPI to CA Manager.
Knowledge Experience Mastering of Certification process (at least 2 years in Railways or Automotive or Aerospace domain) Train system and subsystem knowledge (at least 2 years) Customer and external stakeholders Technical Management Fluent in English Behavioural Attitude Good capability to external relationship with Authorities Attitude to work in a dynamic context, in projects involving different sites Good attitude to work in a team Availability to move for short periods Network Links Job Internal Interfaces: Project team, RAMS Manager, TSE, Participating units, Country Regulator Officer.
