As a cell & battery modelling engineer, you will be heavily involved in generating models to support battery management software development (e.g.
based on model-based controllers and/or AI algorithms) for the companies Intelligent Software Layer for automotive & mobility applications.
Example tasks would be developing high fidelity battery models, defining test cycles for cell characterization, analysis of characterisation data, defining model requirements and features, supporting both application software development and test planning (MIL/HIL/Bench) to achieve robust product development.
Responsibilities: * Developing high-fidelity battery cell and pack models (both ECM based and Physics-based) * Establishing cell & battery model development processes with serial production intent * Defining model requirements, features and parameterisation processes * Coordinating model development & testing around the V-cycle * Supporting software development teams and optimizing the models for software integration and testing * Providing and managing documentation as required Required Skills and Attributes: * At least three years of experience in battery modelling in automotive and/or mobility including physics-based modelling for estimation & controls A relevant PhD qualification is preferred * Excellent grasp of the Matlab/Simulink toolchain, * Good understanding of batteries and electrochemistry * Good understanding of battery testing for cell characterization * Solid grasp of optimisation theory and model parameterisation methods * Awareness of EV technologies, components and specifically battery management systems, sensors, and actuators, * Good understanding of and experience in automotive software development is a plus (e.g.
