This position reports to Global Head of Category Management Your role and responsibilities As a Category Specialist, you will support regional and global sourcing initiatives, either under the leadership of a category manager or independently within defined thresholds. You'll be responsible for purchasing materials according to required specifications, price, delivery schedules, and terms, ensuring all activities align with our corporate policies and procedures. We are looking for candidates in Genoa (Italy) or in a commuting distance. What You'll Do: • Sourcing Strategy and Negotiations: Develop and implement sourcing strategies in close collaboration with the regional/global category leader. Negotiate agreements with main suppliers, renew price lists, and terms periodically to ensure we get the best deals. • Excellence and Benchmarking: Run benchmark studies for the category team and specific sourcing initiatives, setting the standard for excellence. • Contract Management and Support: Create and update local contract amendments, maintaining frame contracts. Support regional/global sourcing initiatives within a defined set of categories by working closely with key stakeholders. • Supplier Performance and Orders: On-board new suppliers, conduct regular evaluations, and provide comprehensive reports to Businesses and Category Managers. Manage regional sourcing initiatives, initiate purchase orders, confirm delivery with suppliers, and monitor their performance. • Communication: Foster clear and effective communication internally and externally, supporting the implementation of procurement and logistics activities and initiatives. Qualifications for the role Educational Background: You hold a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or Supply Management Logistics. Experience: With over 10 years of experience in a similar field, you bring a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record. Skills: Your expertise includes supply chain management, negotiation, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in a global environment. Excellent communication skills are a must. Industry Knowledge: Experience in electronics manufacturing is a significant advantage. Language Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required, fluent knowledge of Italian is considered as advantage.
